Before class starts my CT in outside her classroom greeting the students as they walk in and making sure there is nothing going on in the hallway. Most of the time she has an assingment on the board directing what the students what they should be doing. She starts the class when the bell rings. She settles the students down and starts by asking questions about what they discussed in class the day before. After that she checks the homework by walking around and making sure that it is done. It doesn't seem that she is looking for content just completion. While walking around to see who did their homework she is going over the work to save time. This is the way her class is typically started.
